Salah scores twice, creates another and saves Liverpool from falling to Newcastle

Once again, Mohamed Salah saves Liverpool from falling to the Premier League, after doing so two weeks ago against Southampton, and shining last week against Manchester City.

The Egyptian international participated in the Liverpool and Newcastle match, where he left his first mark by creating the first equalizer for Curtis Jones in the 50th minute.

Newcastle took the lead again over the Reds, and here Salah intervened again by scoring the equalizer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a low cross from the right flank, which Salah met with his right foot and put it past goalkeeper Nick Pope, giving Liverpool the equalizer in the 68th minute.

The 32-year-old Salah returned and scored Liverpool’s third goal and his second in the 83rd minute after receiving the ball inside the penalty area and shooting it with his left this time.

Unfortunately for Salah, his efforts were not crowned with victory this time for Liverpool, as the exciting match ended in a 3-3 draw at St James’ Park.

This is the 37th time that Salah has scored one or more goals and assisted another in the same Premier League match throughout his career.

Thus, Salah surpassed the record held by English football legend and Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, who scored and assisted in the same match 36 times in more than 14 years in the Premier League, whether with United or Everton.

The “Egyptian King” accomplished Rooney’s feat in just 8 years and with one team, in a historic achievement in every sense of the word.
