Liverpool suffered their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat of the season, following a 3-2 loss to Brentford on Saturday.
The Reds’ losing streak began four games ago, with a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, followed by a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. After the international break, Arne Slot’s side lost 2-1 to Manchester United at Anfield, and the latest defeat came in London against Brentford.
The match saw Mohamed Salah return to scoring form after the recent backlash. He scored Liverpool’s second goal in the 89th minute, superbly controlling the ball inside the penalty area and firing a powerful right-footed shot into the net.

Liverpool’s hopes of a comeback after Salah’s goal were dashed, and the Reds ultimately suffered another defeat, increasing the pressure on coach Slot and his squad.
This is the first time since February 2001 that Liverpool have lost four consecutive Premier League matches. What further demonstrates the Reds’ decline is that Salah’s teammates lost four matches throughout last season, as many as they have lost in just the first nine matches of this season!
With this defeat, Liverpool’s tally remains at 15 points, dropping out of the top four and dropping to sixth place, 15 points behind leaders Arsenal, four points behind leaders Arsenal ahead of the Gunners’ anticipated match on Sunday against Crystal Palace.
