Salah comments on his controversial visit to the Japanese temple

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah commented on the English club’s Asian tour of Japan and Hong Kong, and his controversial photo at the Ekwen Temple.

The Egyptian star faced much criticism from Arab fans after appearing at the temple performing Buddhist rituals, with some considering it a violation of Islamic teachings.

Salah, as usual, appears to be paying little attention to the criticism of fans on social media.

The 33-year-old wrote on his X account, “A wonderful pre-season. Thanks to everyone in Hong Kong and Japan. Visiting the Ekwen Temple was inspiring.”

Salah and Liverpool will return to England in the coming hours, where the Reds are preparing to face Athletic Bilbao in their final friendly at Anfield, and then face Crystal Palace at Wembley next Sunday in the Community Shield before the start of the season.

Liverpool beat Yokohama F. Marinos 3-1, and previously lost 4-2 to AC Milan during their pre-season tour of Asia.

The tour witnessed a degree of harmony between Salah and new signing Florian Wirtz, promising Liverpool fans that the upcoming season will witness exceptional brilliance from the duo, enabling the Reds to compete on all levels.
