Mohamed Salah emphasized the importance of the “very important” victory over Aston Villa and expressed his pride in reaching 250 goals in a Liverpool shirt.
The number 11 opened the scoring in Saturday night’s Premier League match at Anfield, capitalizing on a defensive error. This goal put the Reds on the path to a 2-0 win.
“It’s very important,” Salah told reporters after the match. “We’ve had some losses in the Premier League and the Champions League, but I’m happy that we’re starting to get back on track now.”
He added, “It’s a good positive before some very important games against Real Madrid and Manchester City. It’s a very important win for us.”
Regarding Liverpool’s season, he said, “I said from the beginning—and I know football, I’ve played for many years—that this season would be very difficult for us.”
He added, “I’m not happy with the start of my season. As I said, we have some new players, and we’ve also lost some good players, so we just need some time to adapt, and we’ll be fine.”
He concluded, regarding scoring his 250th goal for Liverpool, “It’s a great feeling to score goals and win trophies for such a big club. It’s an achievement I don’t take for granted. I’m very proud and very happy with this milestone.”
