Amorim, who previously managed Manchester United for a year and two months, has agreed to all terms set by Milan’s management, including a scaled-down salary of just €4 million per year. After holding talks with several candidates, the Rossoneri leadership locked in on the 40-year-old tactician, who will sign a contract keeping him at San Siro until the summer of 2028, with an option for an additional year by mutual consent.

Markus Krösche Set as New Football Director

Simultaneously, AC Milan is on the verge of appointing a new Director of Football: Germany’s Markus Krösche, the current Sporting Director of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Following a disastrous past season where Milan failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the club’s ownership sacked the entire sporting management structure. The board initially targeted Austria national team manager Ralf Rangnick to spearhead the new football project. However, after Rangnick declined and renewed his contract with Austria, Milan turned their attention to Krösche.

Krösche is highly regarded for generating massive financial profits for Frankfurt while unearthing top-tier talents such as Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké.

Official Announcement Imminent: Milan has reached a full agreement with Krösche, who will be assisted by Timo Hardung. The official unveiling of both the directorial duo and manager Rúben Amorim is expected within the coming hours.
