Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has launched a scathing attack on The United Strand, accusing it of distracting from football with its viral “haircut challenge.”

Manchester United fan Frank Ellit made headlines worldwide after vowing not to cut his hair until the Red Devils achieved five consecutive victories, but Rooney believes this has become a distraction, insisting the focus should be on Michael Carrick’s team.

West Ham dashed Frank’s hopes of a long-awaited haircut on Tuesday night, holding Manchester United to a 1-1 draw.

Elliott expressed his disappointment with the draw, which meant his challenge was still ongoing, although he was pleased that the social media frenzy would continue to raise money for charity. Speaking on a live stream, he said, “The longer it lasts, the better for charity. I don’t want this to be about me at all, and I’m sure it might be, but the team is still unbeaten and in good shape.”

Rooney then launched a scathing attack on Elliott: “If it were up to me, I’d send him across the country. He’s giving me a headache. We’re talking about Michael Carrick and Manchester United trying to win their fifth game in a row, and all the talk is about this guy’s haircut. I bet he’ll be devastated if United win because then he’ll be irrelevant.”

Carrick downplayed the incident, saying, “It certainly won’t affect my conversations with the team from a professional standpoint. I understand what’s happening, and it makes me smile, but ultimately, it won’t have any impact.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes confirmed his complete indifference to the matter, stating, “I need to book an appointment for myself. I don’t really look at other people and whether they need to go to the hairdresser; it’s not important to me.”
