Al-Arabiya quoted the agent of one of Al-Nassr’s professional players as saying that his future now depends on that of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract with the club expires at the end of the current season.
Previously, it was reported that Ronaldo had reached an agreement with Al-Nassr to renew his contract for two years. However, the Saudi club’s recent setbacks, including its failure to participate in the AFC Champions League next season, make it likely that Ronaldo will move to another club.
According to the channel, one of the foreign players’ contracts expires in the summer of 2026, and his fate is directly linked to Ronaldo’s. If he stays, he will leave, and if the 40-year-old departs, his contract will be renewed.
Neither the agent nor the channel mentioned any players whose fates are linked to Ronaldo’s, noting that Al-Nassr has four foreign players whose contracts expire in the summer of 2026: Aymeric Laporte, Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozovic, and Otavio.
Given what has been rumored for months, it appears that Mané is the player mentioned in the latest report, especially since it has often been rumored that his relationship with Ronaldo is not good enough to the point that it could have led to the Senegalese international’s ouster last summer.
Ronaldo’s position on the renewal is expected to be announced in the coming days, at a time when multiple press reports have indicated that the player is having some dressing room issues with a number of Al-Nassr players.
