Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in Al-Nassr’s 5-1 victory over Al-Riyadh in the third round of the Saudi League.
The match, held at Al-Oula Park Stadium, was marked by chants of “Lionel Messi” from Riyadh fans, provoking the 40-year-old, but the 33-year-old responded perfectly, scoring two goals.
Ronaldo’s braces in the 33rd and 78th minutes came from one-on-ones, bringing his tally for the Saudi League season to three goals in the first three matches.
Ronaldo, along with João Félix, were the stars of the evening, with the Portuguese scoring two of Al-Nassr’s five goals, while Frenchman Kingsley Coman scored the remaining goal.

According to Opta, Ronaldo has now scored his 77th goal in the Saudi League, becoming the seventh-highest scorer in the competition’s history.
Ronaldo also surpassed Al-Ittihad legend Romarinho (76 goals) and became the third-fastest player to reach this number of goals in the competition (80 matches).
Finally, Ronaldo has scored 13 goals in his last 15 Saudi League derbies against Riyadh teams, becoming the first player to score in derbies for Al-Nassr on five consecutive occasions, equaling Hamdallah, who did the same with Al-Alamy between 2019 and 2020.
With this victory, Al-Nassr now have nine points and sits atop the Saudi League standings. Ronaldo is third in the league’s top scorers list, behind João Félix (5 goals) and Joshua King (4 goals).
