Ronaldo Considers Exploiting a “Small” Release Clause to Leave Al-Nassr!

The Portuguese newspaper Record reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is seriously considering leaving Al-Nassr in the upcoming summer transfer window by activating the release clause in his contract with the Saudi club.

The Portuguese star is reportedly furious with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which owns the four major clubs in the Saudi league, due to what he perceives as a significant disparity in support.

Ronaldo expressed his anger with a “silent” protest by refusing to participate in Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Riyadh after the PIF failed to meet his club’s demands during the winter transfer window, unlike the support provided to Al-Hilal.

According to the latest report from the Portuguese newspaper, which is close to Ronaldo, the 40-year-old’s frustration is growing, leading him to seriously consider leaving the Saudi league.

Ronaldo believes the PIF is hindering Al-Nassr’s ability to make new signings in order to limit their competitiveness against Al-Hilal and prevent them from winning the Saudi league title. The legend also believes he deserves greater treatment and appreciation given his significant contributions to Saudi football over the past three years.

Ronaldo could leave Al-Nassr next summer for just €50 million, the value of the release clause in his contract with the club, which runs until the summer of 2027.

In that case, Major League Soccer (MLS) is the most likely destination for Ronaldo to spend the last year or two of his career before retiring.

Ronaldo currently hopes to finish the season by winning the Saudi Professional League title with Al-Nassr. He will then meet with club officials to discuss his future, and the odds are in his favor unless the club’s treatment changes and it receives full support to win trophies.
