Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed attention after scoring a world-class goal for Al-Nassr against Al-Fateh during the team’s 5-1 victory on Saturday evening in the fifth round of the Saudi League.
Ronaldo’s goal came from an exceptional shot from the edge of the penalty area, reminiscent of his goal with Real Madrid against Barcelona in the 2017 Spanish Super Cup.
This goal’s uniqueness lies not only in its technique, but also in the fact that it came after Ronaldo had missed a penalty kick and was beginning to feel pressure, which led him to celebrate wildly and take off his shirt.
Thanks to this goal, Ronaldo reached his 800th career goal with the clubs he represented (Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr), and his 949th career goal overall, putting him 51 goals away from his biggest goal: 1,000 career goals before retiring.
Ronaldo, 40, used one word to describe his work, writing on his X account, “Success is not a coincidence,” referring to the tireless work he has put in every day over more than 20 years in the world of football.
Ronaldo scored his fifth goal this season with Al-Nassr in the Saudi League, placing him second among the competition’s top scorers behind teammate João Felicki (8 goals). It was his third goal in less than a week, having scored twice for Portugal against Hungary in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
