Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of the Saudi Al-Nasr club, stressed his confidence in his team’s ability to come back from the result against Al-Ain and qualify for the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League.
Al-Nasr lost at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium with the participation of Al-Don, 1-0, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, and Al-Ain will host the second leg at Al-Awal Park Stadium on Tuesday.
In the press conference before the match, Ronaldo said, “In the first leg, we could have scored one or two goals. If we played as we did that day and took advantage of the opportunities, we would win.”
He also added, “As I said before, life has challenges, and in the presence of public support, our resolve will increase. I assure you that we will not spare a drop of sweat in the match.”
When an Emirati journalist asked him about the possibility of doing a remontada, Ronaldo answered in Arabic, “Remontada, God willing.”
At the same time, Ronaldo apologized for the disgraceful movements he made in the youth match and was punished as a result, stressing that he respects the customs and traditions of all countries.
At the conclusion of his speech, he said about his experience with Al-Nasr, “I am very happy in Saudi Arabia and I am happy to represent Al-Nasr, and the season for me is positive because we are competing for all the championships so far.”
