Marca newspaper reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is currently working to convince many players to join the Saudi League, the latest of whom is Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez.
Nacho’s contract with the Royal Club expires at the end of the current season, and so far he has not decided to accept the offer proposed to him to renew his contract for another year or to leave the continent of Europe.
According to the latest report, Ronaldo is working to assign the best available options from Real Madrid to Al-Nassr, and “The Don” was one of the most important reasons for the Saudi club’s recent contract with Fernando Hierro as sports director.
After that, Ronaldo called Nacho in order to persuade him to join Al-Nassr, and it is said that the call was the reason for the Spanish player to back down from the idea of joining the American League and prefer the Saudi League option.
Nacho is not the only player that Ronaldo has contacted, as the 39-year-old is also leading negotiations with Casemiro regarding his departure from Manchester United and supporting Al-Nassr next summer.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr still extends until the summer of 2025, while renewal negotiations for another year between the two parties are progressing very positively.
