Ronaldo Announces Final Position on 2025 Club World Cup Participation

Cristiano Ronaldo has settled the controversy surrounding his participation in the 2025 Club World Cup.

The player’s contract with Al-Nassr expires at the end of June, and it has been reported that the player will move to a club inside or outside Saudi Arabia, even for a month, to allow him to participate in the Club World Cup.

Ronaldo has been linked with clubs such as Brazilian club Palmeiras, Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca, Egyptian club Al-Ahly, Saudi club Al-Hilal, and even English club Chelsea, for a possible transfer during the World Cup.

In recent days, more reports have emerged that Al-Nassr officials have convinced the 40-year-old to renew his contract for two years, with some even claiming that he has already signed the new contract.

During the UEFA Nations League final between Portugal and Spain, Ronaldo was asked about his position on participating in the World Cup, and he responded categorically, confirming that it is currently out of his plans.

The Portugal legend said in this regard, “It’s almost a done deal. I won’t be participating in the Club World Cup, despite receiving numerous invitations and offers.”

He added, “There has been talk and communication from several clubs, but you always have to think about the short, medium, and long term.”

It may be inferred from Ronaldo’s statement that he is indeed on the verge of continuing with Al-Nassr, given that he is thinking about the long term and preferred not to participate in the World Cup for that reason.
