Rodri scores for Manchester City for the first time in 600 days

Rodri scored his first goal for Manchester City after nearly two years without finding the net.

The 29-year-old started in Manchester City’s FA Cup third-round match against Exeter on Saturday.

In the 24th minute, the ball rebounded to Rodri, who unleashed a powerful shot that found the back of the net, scoring City’s second goal of the game.

Rodri’s last goal for City was on May 19, 2024, against West Ham in the final round of the Premier League at that time.

In August of the same year, the Spanish international suffered a cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him until the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States.

Upon his return, Rodri provided one assist, against Al Ain in the Club World Cup, before injuries plagued him again until he made a full return in early 2026.
