Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fenerbahce is the latest club showing keen interest in signing Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer during the current summer window.
The Polish international recently announced he would not renew his contract with Barcelona, marking the end of an extraordinary four-year tenure at the Camp Nou filled with numerous titles and achievements.
While Lewandowski’s future has been linked with several clubs across Europe, the MLS, and the Saudi Pro League, the prolific striker has yet to make a final decision.
Fenerbahce Talks vs. Al-Hilal’s Stance
According to Romano, Fenerbahce has initiated talks with Lewandowski’s agent. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal has reportedly ruled out signing the 37-year-old forward.
Lewandowski is open to a move to the Turkish Süper Lig, provided his financial and sporting demands are met. However, he has not yet given Fenerbahce a definitive answer, as he weighs all available options, including lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ittihad Remains an Option; Osimhen and Lautaro on Al-Hilal’s Radar
Saudi journalist Abdulaziz Al-Merisel confirmed that Lewandowski is no longer a target for Al-Hilal. Instead, the Saudi giants have pivoted to a shortlist featuring Victor Osimhen and Lautaro Martinez to bolster their attack.
On the other hand, a transfer to Al-Ittihad remains a strong possibility. The Saudi club is looking to pull off a major overhaul, seeking a world-class striker to replace Karim Benzema, who departed last winter.
Meanwhile, Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus were previously linked with “Lewa.” However, a move to Italy is now highly unlikely after both clubs failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
