There is no doubt that the star of the first excellent Saturday of the Premier League season was Richarlison, following his stunning performance against Burnley at Spurs Stadium.
In the 10th minute of the first half, the Brazilian star scored Tottenham’s first goal, before returning again in the 60th minute to score Thomas Frank’s second.
The second goal was nothing short of spectacular. Richarlison’s double overhead kick, from a cross from Mohammed Kudus, deflected past Dubravka in an indescribable way, making it arguably the best goal of the first week of the Premier League so far.
The stunning goal brings to mind Richarlison’s other exceptional goal for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, also in the same manner against Serbia.
Tottenham ultimately won 3-0, quickly climbing to the top of the Premier League standings, and Richarlison remains the competition’s leading scorer until further notice.
