Three players have fallen out of favor with coach Yannick Ferreira, and the Belgian has asked the Zamalek management to release them during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to Al-Watan newspaper.
Ferreira believes that Moroccan Abdelhamid Maali needs more participation, and that this cannot be guaranteed at Zamalek. Therefore, the best option for him is to go on loan to an Egyptian Premier League club in January and monitor him closely, then return next season when he is more prepared for the experience.
At the same time, Ferreira requested the departure of midfielder Seif Farouk Jaafar, citing a lack of technical need for his services, especially after Ahmed Rabie recovered from injury and Nabil Emad Dunga played in the same position. The player has not performed to the required standard when given opportunities in more than one match this season.
The third player who is completely out of favor is young player Ahmed Abdel Rahim Eshou. Ferreira considers him to be below par, and it is practically impossible for him to participate with Juan Alvina and several other options in the attacking lineup.
The Zamalek management has not yet made a final decision to approve Ferreira’s requests—although it is inclined to do so—given that the coach himself may leave if the negative results continue, and amidst relentless demands from the Whites’ fans for his dismissal following the extremely difficult past month experienced by the Mit Okba team.
