Marca reported that Saudi offers are on the way to Real Madrid for two of the club’s stars.
The subject of this discussion is central defender David Alaba and midfielder Dani Ceballos, without revealing the duo’s position on a move to the Saudi league.
So far, no official offer has been received from Saudi Arabia, but it is expected to happen within days. Meanwhile, the Merengue management is initially open to the idea of selling them if a good financial offer is made.
As for Alaba, the player is determined to complete the remaining year of his contract with Real Madrid, especially since his high salary of €21 million makes him unconcerned with any other Saudi offer, even if it is slightly higher.
Ceballos, for his part, has one desire if he leaves Real Madrid: a return to Real Betis, but the Andalusian club does not have the funds to convince Florentino Pérez’s administration to accept the deal.
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso wants Ceballos in particular to stay, while welcoming the sale of Alaba, who has failed to return to form since suffering a cruciate ligament injury two years ago.
The most likely scenario so far is that the duo will remain at the Santiago Bernabéu next season, unless something new emerges and Saudi officials succeed in convincing them of the project there. The identity of the clubs interested in signing them has not been revealed.
