Moroccan press reports stated that Walid Regragui has settled on including Zamalek star Mahmoud Bentayg to the upcoming camp of the Moroccan national team in March.
Bentayg has succeeded in giving a more than wonderful performance with Zamalek recently, crowned by a valuable equalizer in the summit against Al-Ahly last week.
According to recent reports, Regragui closely followed what Bentayg presented and how he adapted to Egyptian football and turned into one of Zamalek’s stars, and decided to include him in the Moroccan national team.
A member of the Atlas Lions’ technical staff has already contacted the 25-year-old in preparation for his inclusion in Regragui’s list in the matches against Niger and Tanzania in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In general, the left-back position is one of the positions in which Morocco clearly suffers, and with Yahya Attiyat Allah’s injury, the door has been wide open for Bentayg.
Bentayg was loaned to Zamalek last summer from Saint-Etienne, and the White Castle has the right to buy him next summer for one million euros.
