Real Madrid’s New Law: ‘Twenty’ as the Transfer Limit… and One Exception!

Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha is Real Madrid’s top target in the upcoming summer transfer window to bolster their midfield. He will be the only exception to the strategy President Florentino Pérez has decided to implement to achieve “financial balance” and build the club’s future on a solid foundation.

The newspaper AS indicated that Real Madrid will undergo a major overhaul next summer, with Pérez planning several signings, specifically to strengthen the center-back and midfield positions.

Real Madrid’s summer strategy will focus on paying only for players under 20 years old, as their prices will be lower, and they can be relied upon for a long period.

As for any player over 20, Real Madrid’s management does not want to pay a transfer fee. Instead, they prefer to acquire these players on free transfers, just as the club has done in recent years, which has led to the signing of many stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Antonio Rüdiger, and David Alaba.

However, the only exception to this rule would be Vitinha, a player still under contract with Paris Saint-Germain, who represents Pérez and his management’s biggest dream to fill the void left by the departure of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric from the Santiago Bernabéu.

Pérez and his management are not averse to paying more than €100 million if necessary to sign Vitinha. If the Portuguese player’s transfer fails, the desired alternative is the 20-year-old Dutchman Kees Smit, who is expected to cost the Spanish club only €50 million.

Ultimately, Real Madrid will likely move to sign two new center-backs and additional midfielders. A new attacking reinforcement is unlikely unless one of the current players leaves Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad.
