Juventus sporting director Damien Comolli made an unusual appearance alongside rising Bianconeri star Kenan Yildiz before coach Luciano Spalletti’s press conference today, officially announcing the young striker’s contract extension until 2030.
Italian media reports on Saturday morning indicated that both parties had reached an agreement on the new deal and that the official announcement was imminent.
Juventus wasted no time in announcing the extension, using the press conference for Sunday’s match against Lazio to delight the Old Lady’s fans with this significant development.
Yildiz commented on his contract renewal, saying, “I thank John Elkann, Comolli, everyone at Juventus, the coach, my teammates, and the fans. I am happy to renew my contract and remain with you as part of this family.”
He added, “I’m confident we’ll achieve great things in the future. I love Juventus. Since joining us, I’ve been certain we’ll achieve great things, with the support of the fans and my family.”
With this, the 20-year-old puts an end to all the rumors circulating about interest from English and Spanish clubs.
Real Madrid were the most eager to secure Yıldız’s services, and according to Spanish media, Florentino Pérez’s administration were disappointed upon learning of the Turkish international’s contract renewal at the Allianz Stadium, thus ending Real Madrid’s hopes of signing him.
