The 2025-26 Champions League draw has produced a series of exciting matches for Real Madrid in the league stage, making it difficult for Xabi Alonso to reach the round of 16 directly without the need for the playoffs.
Last year, Real Madrid finished in the bottom of the league, forcing them into the playoffs against Manchester City, and then outplayed Pep Guardiola’s side before being eliminated in the quarter-finals by Arsenal.
As per the rules of the draw, Real Madrid will face two teams from each level, which will put them in particularly tough matches against teams from the top two tiers.
