Real Madrid played a friendly match behind closed doors against Leganes on Friday, as part of the two teams’ preparations for the start of the 2025-26 season.
The club did not announce the date of the match in advance, nor did it cover the proceedings, and no media were allowed to attend.
Spanish newspapers ultimately reported that Real Madrid won 4-1, with all four goals coming from Brahim Díaz, Dejan Huijsen, Eder Militao, and youngster Thiago Pitares.
According to Marca, coach Xabi Alonso adopted a 4-4-2 formation, playing a formation largely similar to the team’s last match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup.
Reports vary regarding the identity of the central defender duo, but the most likely lineup is that Alonso played Raúl Asensio and Dejan Huijsen in the first half, and David Alaba and Éder Militao in the second half. Dani Carvajal played on the right flank and Álvaro Carreras on the left.
Offensively, Brahim Díaz was on the right flank and Vinicius Junior on the left, with Kylian Mbappé and Gonzalo García as attacking pair.
Real Madrid is scheduled to play a friendly against Tirol in Austria next week, before preparing for the opening match of the La Liga season against Osasuna on Tuesday, August 19, at the Santiago Bernabéu.
