Real Madrid are practically close to finalizing the signing of Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer this summer when his contract with Liverpool expires.
English media outlets have indicated that Konaté has refused to renew his contract with Liverpool and wants to take a new step in his career away from the Premier League.
Real Madrid are looking for a new center-back, and since Dayot Upamecano renewed his contract with Bayern Munich, Konaté has become Florentino Pérez’s top target.
Spanish reports indicate that Real Madrid are tempting Konaté with a huge signing bonus of up to €15 million.
The French international is inclined to move to Real Madrid, but he needs assurances first that he will be a regular starter and receive the necessary support.
It is noted that there are currently two camps within Real Madrid regarding Konaté: one that welcomes the deal and another that prefers to explore other options, especially after the player’s decline in form with Liverpool this season.
