According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid’s management is targeting Toni Kroos’s return to the club in an undisclosed position within the sporting administration.
Kroos, who retired after Euro 2024, remains highly respected by both his teammates and the club’s management. The proposal for his return likely comes with the direct blessing of President Florentino Pérez.
Pérez believes that integrating Kroos into the club’s sporting structure would bring numerous benefits, firmly convinced that his daily contribution at Valdebebas would support the team’s progress, growth, and development at all levels.
Kroos is not expected to oppose this return, as he maintains a strong relationship with Pérez and the remaining Real Madrid players from his historic generation. Furthermore, he and his family reside in Madrid.
The specific role the German star would assume at Real Madrid remains unknown. He might ultimately succeed Santiago Solari, who currently serves as an advisor to the club, with some authority to influence the team and transfer policy.
In general, Real Madrid has been suffering from an administrative crisis in the last year, manifested in the alleged conflict between Perez’s right-hand man, Anas El Gharari, and the club’s general manager, Angel Sanchez, and Kroos may be part of the expected solutions to save the situation.
