Xabi Alonso has a constellation of stars at Real Madrid, all of whom are looking to play regularly, and one of them has threatened to leave if he doesn’t get his full chance.
Arda Güler suffered significant marginalization during Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure, but he admits that with Alonso’s arrival, things look different.
Güler told reporters, “I feel more important now because Alonso is talking to me constantly. In the first match, I played 45 minutes, so everything feels better now.”
He added, “I feel good with him because he likes to control the tempo, wants more short passes, and sees me as a midfielder, which is better for me.”
At the same time, the 19-year-old Güler warned that he doesn’t want to sit on the bench under any circumstances.
The Turkish international continued, “I’m not currently thinking about leaving Real Madrid, but of course, if I don’t play, I will leave, and all options will be open to me.” He concluded, “But as I said, at the moment, I’m completely focused on Real Madrid and preparing for next season.”
