Real Madrid player Raúl Asensio received good news after the charges against him in the child sexual abuse and disclosure of secrets case, which had caused great concern that he could end up in prison for three years, were withdrawn.
Two teenage girls, one of whom is a minor, have accused Asensio and three Real Madrid youth team players.
Last month, one girl withdrew the charges, followed by another in the past few hours. Asensio’s position in the case is reassuring, as the public prosecutor awaits the verdict and whether he will fully acquit the Real Madrid star.
The girl testified that Asensio’s behavior was different from that of the other defendants, and apologized for the moral damage he caused.
The case dates back to 2023, when three Real Madrid youth players had consensual sexual relations with two girls. However, a video of the incident was recorded without the consent of the two girls, one of whom was 18 and the other 16. While Asensio did not participate, he obtained the video and showed it to a friend, which implicated him in the case.
