Real Madrid star Fede Valverde announced that he will wear the Toni Kroos shirt with Real Madrid with the number 8 starting next season.
Since joining Real Madrid from Penarol in 2017, Valverde has worn the number 15 shirt, but with the retirement of Toni Kroos, he decided to fulfill his dream and wear the number 8 shirt.
The Uruguayan international said after the Champions League final, “I love the number 15. My dream with Real Madrid started with this number, but now I have decided to change it.”
He also added, “Yes, I will change my number two months from now and I will wear shirt No. 8. Let’s say that this chapter (shirt No. 15) has ended very well.”
Valverde won the Champions League twice with Real Madrid, the last of which was in 2024 when he started during the Royal Club’s 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
