Real Madrid have rejected an offer from Galatasaray to sign Eduardo Camavinga, leaving the Turkish club struggling to meet the Spanish side’s valuation before the transfer window closes.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomaç, Galatasaray have been negotiating with Real Madrid since last June, following club president Dursun Özbek’s desire to make the French midfielder their marquee signing of the summer.
Galatasaray’s bid reached €35 million, but Real Madrid rejected it and are holding out for €50 million. The Turkish side is now considering a loan offer with a mandatory purchase obligation to reach the required evaluation.
Real Madrid’s hierarchy was open to selling Camavinga, even without bringing in a direct replacement, as he is not considered an essential starter in José Mourinho’s plans. However, the club refuses to sell him below their evaluation for a player contracted through June 2029.
The 23-year-old midfielder has struggled with injuries, inconsistent form, and criticism over ball retention, losing fan support at the Santiago Bernabéu and falling behind Federico Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham, and Arda Güler in the pecking order.
Despite these challenges, Camavinga has featured in all three of Real Madrid’s La Liga matches under Mourinho this season, though starting only once—accumulating 112 minutes without scoring or assisting—and playing the full 90 minutes against Málaga before facing fan criticism.
Galatasaray plan to keep pushing until the Turkish transfer window closes on September 4. However, completing the deal will require an increased bid, financial flexibility from Real Madrid, or approval from Mourinho, particularly as Camavinga himself prefers to remain in Madrid and fight for his place.
