Spanish media reports indicate that Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham’s injury may be more serious than initially reported, potentially extending his absence.
The England international sustained the injury during last week’s La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.
Bellingham left the game in tears, and subsequent tests revealed a hamstring injury. Spanish media initially reported that he would be sidelined for only one month.
However, journalist Ramon Alvarez, who is close to Real Madrid, insists that the injury is far more severe than initially announced, and that the 23-year-old will be out for at least two months.
This means that Bellingham may not return to Real Madrid until early April, after the international break.
Undoubtedly, a prolonged absence for Jude would be a significant blow to coach Alvaro Arbeloa, exacerbating the team’s midfield woes and diminishing the attacking prowess of the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Bellingham has participated in 28 matches in all competitions with Real Madrid this season, during which he managed to score 6 goals and provide 4 assists.
