There is a strong belief within Real Madrid that winning the 2025 Club World Cup is the beginning of a return to the right path. To this end, President Florentino Perez has decided to offer the largest bonus in the club’s history to motivate the players to win the title.
According to the newspaper “AS,” the Club World Cup has become a “strategic title” for Real Madrid and its management, and all club officials are urging the players, directly or indirectly, to return to the Spanish capital for it, no matter the cost.
By direct decision by Perez, each player will receive one million euros if Real Madrid wins the 2025 Club World Cup. This is the largest bonus ever in the club’s history, even exceeding what each player receives for winning the Champions League.
Perez personally believes that winning the World Cup would be the best way to begin the Xabi Alonso era. Despite the expected fatigue in the upcoming season, it will play a significant morale boost that will ultimately lead to Real Madrid regaining its domestic and continental dominance.
Alonso and the Real Madrid stars promised the president and officials that they would return with the title, not only for the huge reward, but also because they believe this title will directly contribute to compensating the fans for last season’s disappointing season.
Real Madrid finished last season without major trophies, winning only the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
Real Madrid is the most decorated club in Club World Cup history, having won the title five times in various formats.
Real Madrid opened its campaign in this edition of the World Cup with a draw against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, followed by wins over Pachuca, Salzburg, and Juventus. They will face Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals.
