Real Madrid Legend Could Join Mourinho at Benfica!

Jose Mourinho is planning to reunite with a Real Madrid legend at Benfica, but the deal doesn’t seem easy at all.

Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur revealed that Mourinho is seeking to sign Al-Ittihad star Karim Benzema with Benfica during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Benzema’s contract with the Saudi club still runs until the end of the current season, and Al-Ittihad officials are said to welcome a sale if they receive an offer of between €6 and €7 million.

Benfica isn’t the only club interested in signing Benzema. Several clubs in France and the United States are closely monitoring the 35-year-old’s situation, hoping to secure him either in January or next summer.

Mourinho believes Benfica needs a new striker, and Benzema appears to be the ideal choice, especially since the relationship between the Special One and the player has been strong since the Portuguese coach’s time at Real Madrid 15 years ago.

Benzema has not yet made a decision on whether to leave or continue with Al-Ittihad, although his situation with the club is progressing well so far, despite some disagreements between the player and the management over the way the last summer transfer window was managed.

Benzema missed Al-Ittihad’s last three matches due to injury and is expected to return to the pitch with coach Laurent Blanc in the match against Al-Nassr next week.
