Marca reported that Real Madrid is ready to terminate the contract of one of its players and let him leave for free, just to get rid of him after he lost all opportunities with both the first team and the reserve team.
This player is Reinier Jesus, who joined the club in the summer of 2020 from Flamengo for €30 million. He has failed to perform well in Europe despite a series of loan spells in recent years.
Reinier is one of three players who have no place at Real Madrid, along with Álvaro Rodríguez and Mario Martín, and Real Madrid wants to get rid of them by any means possible this summer, even without making any financial gain.
According to the latest report, Reinier is in the worst position of the three. No club is currently interested in signing him, and Real Madrid is not expected to find any offers for him at any financial price. The club also does not want to send him out on loan again, preferring to end its relationship with him completely.
To this end, the club’s management is awaiting developments in the coming weeks. If things continue as they are, Reinier’s contract will be terminated by mutual consent, leaving him free, and his relationship with the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will end.
Since joining in 2020, Reinier has been loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Frosinone, and Granada. All of these experiences were unsuccessful. Neither Xabi Alonso nor Raúl Arbeloa have been convinced of his ability to play for the first team or the reserve team next season.
Reinier’s contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2027, and the Spanish club sees no financial loss from terminating his contract, rather than bearing part of his salary during a new loan attempt, which would see him leave for free next year.
