Real Madrid Could Lead to Tudor’s Dismissal from Juventus

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Juventus coach Igor Tudor could be sacked if they suffer a heavy defeat to Real Madrid in the match scheduled for next Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus have not tasted victory in their last six matches in all competitions, and suffered their first defeat of the season last Saturday at Como, 2-0. This was the first victory for the venerable Italian team over the Old Lady in over 70 years.

At the moment, the relationship between Tudor and the Juventus management is extremely tense, and the coach has been given one last chance to salvage his future, represented by next week’s Champions League matches against Real Madrid and Serie A matches against Lazio.

If they lose both matches, Tudor will be sacked less than a year after taking over. A heavy defeat to Real Madrid would mean he would not even get a chance to face Lazio, putting the coach in an unenviable position given the club’s excellent form this season.

Juventus management has already begun searching for a successor to Tudor in anticipation of his dismissal. There are three candidates: former Italy coach Luciano Spalletti, and Roberto Mancini. They are also considering bringing back Thiago Motta, especially since his contract with the Bianconeri still extends until 2027 despite his dismissal last March.

Juventus currently sits seventh in the Serie A standings with 12 points from their first seven matches, four points behind leaders Milan. In the Champions League, they have drawn their first two matches against Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.
