Renowned Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol has revealed that Real Madrid remains highly confident in securing the signing of Julián Álvarez, despite Atlético Madrid’s firm stance on keeping the player or selling him exclusively outside of La Liga.
Real Madrid had previously launched an official €150 million bid to sign Álvarez, which the Rojiblancos categorically rejected.
However, the situation escalated recently as Julián Álvarez publicly expressed his desire to leave the Wanda Metropolitano to fulfill his ultimate dream. Spanish outlets heavily report that his dream destination is FC Barcelona.
Atlético Madrid Threatens FIFA Complaint Against Barcelona
Atlético Madrid is fiercely opposed to selling their star forward to Barcelona. The club is reportedly preparing an official complaint to FIFA against the Catalan giants, accusing them of illegal tapping-up and negotiating with a player under a valid contract.
Pedrerol, who is known for his close ties to the Real Madrid boardroom, shared a message from a senior club official confirming absolute confidence that Atlético Madrid will ultimately be forced to sell Álvarez to Los Blancos.
Transfer Paradox: Logic vs. Reality
Logically, the transfer seems highly improbable. Atlético Madrid has already turned down a massive €150 million offer from their bitter city rivals and would naturally loathe selling their talisman to Real Madrid.
Furthermore, reports suggest that Real Madrid’s actual interest might be overstated, considering their current attacking depth which features Kylian Mbappé, Endrick, and Gonzalo García competing for the center-forward position.
Arsenal and PSG On High Alert
Should the Barcelona move collapse, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are waiting in the wings. Rumors suggest that the Argentine forward highly favors the Gunners as his preferred alternative to Barcelona.
