There is considerable confusion within Real Madrid regarding who will stay next season: Gonzalo Garcia or Endrick. This is due to Xabi Alonso’s desire to see one stay and the other leave.
Garcia shone at the 2025 Club World Cup, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with four goals. As for Endrick, there is a belief in his abilities and a recognition that Carlo Ancelotti treated him unfairly last season by not giving him regular opportunities.
According to Marca, Real Madrid’s management is currently leaning toward Gonzalo Garcia continuing with the squad and Endrick leaving on loan for a season.
Alonso is very satisfied with Garcia’s performance and believes he has the fitness to play regularly next season and fill the desired role of Joselu. The 21-year-old also provides Real Madrid with a clear dynamic in the striker position.
On the other hand, Alonso respects Endrick’s abilities, but he doesn’t even plan to use him as a striker. If he stays, he will likely play on the right wing, a position that can already be covered by the presence of Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz.
Endrick has not yet been informed of the decision, although those close to the Brazilian player have confirmed that his agent has informed Real Madrid of his desire to continue next season and fight for his position.
