Marcus Rashford has settled on the shirt number he will wear with Barcelona throughout his loan from Manchester United next season.
Rashford wore the number 10 shirt with the Red Devils, but he cannot do the same with Barcelona after Lamine Yamal took the number of the Blaugrana legends this season.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford has settled on the number 19 shirt, the same shirt Lionel Messi wore at the beginning of his career with Barcelona, before taking the number 10 in 2009.
Brazilian Vitor Roque was the last player to wear the number 19 shirt with Barcelona in 2024, while no player was given this “precious” number last season.
Several stars have worn the number 19 for Barcelona, including Sergio Agüero during his brief time at Camp Nou, Kevin-Prince Boateng, and Franck Kessie. It was also the first number worn by Ferran Torres upon his arrival at the Catalan club.
Rashford is expected to make his Barça debut during the Asian tour, although sources close to coach Hansi Flick are unlikely to confirm his fitness for the first two La Liga rounds due to his absence from training for a while.
