Marcus Rashford is close to fulfilling his biggest dream: a move to Barcelona, according to various sources.
Rashford’s loan at Aston Villa ended at the end of this season, and he is set to return to Manchester United.
Rashford will not continue with United, no matter what happens, due to the numerous disagreements between him and manager Ruben Amorim, which led to his departure last January to Villa Park.
Meeting between Rashford’s representatives and Barcelona management
According to Sport, Rashford’s representatives met with Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, in the past few hours to discuss a possible transfer.
Rashford dreams of wearing the Barcelona shirt and is willing to make the necessary concessions to complete this deal. Initially, negotiations between the two parties are progressing positively.
However, Rashford is not Barcelona’s only option to bolster their attack. There are three other options, but their names have not yet been revealed.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is said to have given the green light to sign Rashford, seeing him as a great option for both the left winger and striker positions when needed.
Barcelona and Manchester United negotiations are complicated so far
Meanwhile, negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester United regarding Rashford appear complicated at the moment.
The Spanish press has reported that Barcelona wants to sign Rashford on loan with an option to buy next summer.
However, United’s management has rejected this and is currently determined to sell Rashford permanently for €45 million.
The two sides are expected to try to reach a common ground soon, but for United, selling Rashford is extremely important due to the economic crisis and the urgent need for funds at Old Trafford.
