Sergio Ramos hopes to return to Europe next winter and has already begun exploring his options, including a move to Serie A.
Ramos has decided against renewing his contract with Mexican club Monterrey, which expires at the end of this year, due to family reasons and his dream of playing in the 2026 World Cup with the Spanish national team.
According to Calciomercato, Ramos has offered his services to AC Milan, who are seriously considering signing the 39-year-old in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Milan are open to signing experienced, high-quality players, especially given Luka Modric’s successful spell with them this season. Furthermore, coach Massimiliano Allegri prefers to work with this type of player and rely on them in difficult situations.
Milan are looking to bolster their defense this winter, and Thiago Silva, 41, has already been linked with a move, suggesting the club might also seriously consider signing Sergio Ramos.
As for the Real Madrid legend, he is very open to the idea of moving to Serie A for the remainder of the season. He believes a successful spell at Milan would pave the way for him to captain Luis de la Fuente’s squad at the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Ramos’s biggest dream remains a return to Real Madrid, but that door is completely closed. According to Fabrizio Romano, the most likely alternative would be a return to Sevilla if his move to Milan falls through.
