Pyramids FC continued their flawless start to the Egyptian Premier League campaign after overcoming El Masry 1–0, while Zamalek secured their second consecutive victory with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Suez Petrojet.
The Matchday 3 results confirmed both teams’ early entry into the title race, as Pyramids maintained a perfect record without conceding a single goal, while Zamalek raised their points tally to 7 to remain right behind the leaders.
Zamalek Survive Petrojet Comeback
At Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek took the lead through Hossam Ashraf’s header in the 40th minute, before substitute Mohamed El-Sayed doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute. Badr Moussa pulled one back for Suez Petrojet in the first minute of stoppage time.
Despite Suez Petrojet posing the greater attacking threat—registering 23 shots compared to Zamalek’s 12—the White Knights held firm to claim all three points. The victory extends their unbeaten run, following an opening-day goalless draw against Ittihad Alexandria, a 3–0 win over National Bank, and the 2–1 triumph over Petrojet.
Pyramids Pass El Masry Test
Defender Ahmed Samy decided the clash between Pyramids and El Masry at New Suez Stadium, rising highest to head home a precise cross from Moroccan right-back Mohamed Chibi in the 11th minute to secure a valuable win.
With this result, Pyramids registered their third straight victory of the season, following wins over Ghazl El Mahalla (3–0), Abou Qir Fertilizers (2–0), and El Masry (1–0), scoring six goals and keeping three consecutive clean sheets.
