Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne, confirmed that the idea of moving to the Saudi League seems very logical to him, given the huge financial compensation he may receive.
The Belgian international’s contract with Manchester City expires in the summer of 2025, amid great interest from many Saudi clubs in obtaining his services, whether by paying a fee this summer or for free after a year.
De Bruyne, who is supposed to enter into negotiations with City in the coming period to resolve his future, spoke and said, “When I am at my age, I am open to all options, including moving to the Saudi League.”
The 32-year-old added, “For my wife, an adventure like this (joining Saudi Arabia) is out of the ordinary and she finds it very good. I have to really think about my future.”
He concluded, “If I play in Saudi Arabia for two years, I will earn an incredible amount of money, perhaps more than I earned in 15 years of playing football.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary reaches 200 million euros, and 150 million euros for both Neymar and Karim Benzema, and De Bruyne’s salary if he moves to Saudi Arabia is assumed to be no less than 100 million euros annually, while his salary with City will in no way exceed 20 million euros.
