“Foot Mercato” has reported that Nice has managed to reach an agreement with Al Ahly on the terms of a deal to sign Mohamed Abdelmonem.
The French club is looking for a new center-back after the departure of Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham, and Abdelmonem has been their top choice for the past month.
According to the latest report, Nice will pay Al Ahly 4 million euros for Abdelmonem, plus another 1 million euros in variables depending on the Egyptian defender’s individual and collective successes.
The only remaining disagreement between Al Ahly and Nice is currently over how to pay for the deal, as the French club wants to pay in installments while the Al Ahly administration insists on receiving the full amount at once.
At the same time, it is expected that the contract will include a clause allowing Al Ahly to receive 10% of the value of a future sale of Mohamed Abdelmonem to any other club.
The official announcement of Nice’s signing of 25-year-old Abdelmonem is expected in the coming days.
