Pini Zahavi, Robert Lewandowski’s agent, met with Juventus officials to discuss his client’s potential move to the Bianconeri, in what Italian media described as a “positive meeting” for all parties.
The Polish international is set to leave Camp Nou at the end of his contract this season, and Juventus, along with AC Milan, stands out as two possible destinations for the 37-year-old, who has also been linked with moves to the Saudi Professional League and Major League Soccer.
Recent reports indicate that during the meeting between Zahavi and Juventus general manager Damien Comolli, Lewandowski informed the Juventus management of his interest in joining the Allianz Arena, provided certain financial and sporting requirements are met.
Lewandowski’s primary demand is a guarantee of regular playing time and a key role in Luciano Spalletti’s squad next season, something Juventus has reportedly assured him of.
However, the financial demands remain the only obstacle, as Lewandowski wants to earn €8 million annually, a figure Juventus management considers excessive given the player’s age.
Overall, Juventus left the meeting pleased and is now considering the possibility of reducing the player’s salary through negotiations with Zahavi in the coming days before making a final decision on whether to proceed with finalizing the deal and push for its swift completion, or to pursue another option.
It’s worth noting that Chicago Fire remains the frontrunner to sign Lewandowski, and it’s reported that Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad from the Saudi Professional League have already submitted substantial offers to the player to persuade him to move to the Middle East.
