Pedri Demands UEFA Investigate Marciniak, a “Barcelona Hater”

Barcelona star Pedri launched a fierce attack on referee Szymon Marciniak, blaming him for Barça’s Champions League semi-final exit to Inter.

Marciniak did not award a controversial penalty to Lamine Yamal, nor did he review the video assistant referee (VAR) for Inter’s equalizer despite what appeared to be a foul early in the game.

After the match, Pedri said of the Pole, “There are many things I don’t understand, and it’s difficult to explain. For example, there’s a shot on Lamine that I think was a clear yellow card, maybe even a penalty, or at least a foul.”

He added, “I agree with Flick. All the decisions that were 50/50 went their way. In the shot on Lamine, Mkhitaryan could have been sent off, as he had a yellow card. I don’t understand the ruling.”

He continued, “This isn’t the first time something similar has happened to us with this referee. UEFA really needs to investigate.”

He concluded, “We’ll come back stronger next year. Right now, we’re frustrated, that’s clear. But tomorrow, we have to think about El Clásico, because it represents half the league for us, and we’ll go out there and win everything.”
