Monaco inflicted a first home defeat on French champions Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 this season, winning 3-1 at the Parc des Princes.
Monaco finished the first half with a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Magnus Akliuch, before Aleksandr Golovin and Foulard Balogun added two more goals for the visitors after the break. Bradley Barcola scored a consolation goal for Paris Saint-Germain.
This victory could be seen as revenge for Monaco, after their Champions League exit in the Round of 16 at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last week.
With this win, Monaco climbed to fifth place with 40 points, but they remain 17 points behind the league leaders.
Meanwhile, the race for the Ligue 1 title has intensified with only nine rounds remaining.
Paris Saint-Germain remain top of Ligue 1 with 57 points, and if Lens beat Metz on Sunday, the gap will be just one point for Luis Enrique’s men.
PSG will need to quickly regain their composure as they prepare to host Chelsea next Wednesday in their Champions League title defense.
