Paris Saint-Germain’s management wants Luis Enrique to stay at the Parc des Princes for as long as possible, to the point that they are prepared to offer him a “lifetime” contract, not a fixed-term one, according to the Spanish newspaper AS.
Enrique’s current contract with PSG expires in the summer of 2027, and Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s administration hopes to secure the Spaniard’s signature soon and extend his stay with the team for the longest possible period.
Enrique already earns €1.1 million per month, and PSG’s management is prepared to double this salary to convince him to renew, making him the highest-paid coach in the world.
Ultimately, it is unlikely that Enrique will agree to a lifetime contract, but given the pressure from PSG and the financial incentives, he might agree to a two- or three-year extension, which would be a significant gain for the French club.
Luis Enrique’s name has been linked to the Liverpool job should Arne Slot be sacked, and he remains a target for top clubs both in his native Spain and the Premier League.
Enrique could emerge as a likely candidate should Pep Guardiola leave Manchester City next summer, as well as for Manchester United, who are likely to part ways with manager Ruben Amorim soon and seek a manager with a proven track record of success like Luis Enrique.
Although his first season in charge of Paris Saint-Germain was considered relatively unremarkable, Enrique significantly improved the team in the 2024/25 season, culminating in winning the club’s first-ever Champions League title.
