Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé broke a historic record previously held by Zlatan Ibrahimović in the French Classique against Marseille.
The French star needed just 37 minutes to score two goals in the match played Sunday evening at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1.
With this brace, Dembélé became the first player to contribute a goal or an assist in each of his first six appearances in Classique against Marseille.
The previous record was held by Ibrahimović, who contributed in just five matches, allowing Dembélé to continue making history with PSG.
Dembélé also became the fastest player to score two goals in a Ligue 1 Classique since Mauro Icardi, who achieved this feat on October 27, 2019.
It’s worth noting that Dembélé has contributed to nine goals against Marseille in official matches, scoring five and assisting four, making the southern French club his favorite opponent throughout his career. Meanwhile, Dembele’s total goals for Paris Saint-Germain have reached 51 since joining the French club three years ago, his best scoring record with any club he has played for throughout his career.
