Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Ousmane Dembélé to extend his contract by two additional seasons, as confirmed by L’Équipe following initial reports of advancing negotiations by Canal+.
The French forward will now be committed to the European champions until June 2030, moving past his current contract expiration in summer 2028. Official signing procedures and formal announcements are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
Prior negotiations centered on the player’s desire for a salary reflecting his status as a Ballon d’Or winner, weighed against PSG’s commitment to maintaining their wage structure by linking the majority of any pay increase to performance metrics and appearance targets.
While the exact final salary figures have not been disclosed, Dembélé currently earns approximately €1.5 million gross per month—equating to €18 million annually before performance bonuses. Estimates surrounding the negotiations suggest the updated package could approach €30 million per year, combining fixed wages and performance incentives.
The French international had an opportunity to move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal earlier this summer, but he rejected the lucrative financial proposal, insisting on remaining in European football and specifically with PSG.
Dembélé joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for €50.4 million in August 2023. He recorded 6 goals and 13 assists across 42 appearances in his debut campaign before exploding with 35 goals and 16 assists during PSG’s historic UEFA Champions League-winning season. He followed up with 20 goals the subsequent season, bringing his total tally for the Parisian club to 61 goals in 136 matches.
During his tenure in Paris, Dembélé has collected 13 trophies, headlined by back-to-back Champions League titles, three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, three Trophée des Champions titles, two UEFA Super Cups, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Individually, he was awarded the 2025 Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Best Male Player award, alongside two Ligue 1 Player of the Year honors and finishing as the league’s top scorer during PSG’s first European championship campaign.
