Victor Osimhen wants one thing: a move to Galatasaray during the current summer transfer window. He is putting intense pressure on Napoli’s management, who are clinging to a €75 million transfer fee, to accept the sale.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray is willing to pay this huge sum, but in installments over five years, a deal that Napoli has accepted in principle.
However, the current crisis is that Napoli has asked Galatasaray for bank guarantees to pay the installments, which the Turkish club is refusing to provide to its Italian counterpart. This has led to negotiations stalling between the two parties in the past few hours.
Subsequently, other reports emerged confirming that Osimhen is putting pressure on Napoli’s management in every possible way, to the point that he has threatened to retire if the deal fails, as punishment for the Italian club for making the deal difficult to complete.
Osimhen’s contract with Napoli still runs until next year, but the relationship between the player and coach Antonio Conte is strained, making his departure inevitable. However, the southern club wants to reap the maximum financial reward from him and has refused to even negotiate the release clause.
Despite the current obstacles, Turkish and Italian media confirm that all parties are optimistic that the deal will eventually be concluded, given the player’s desire on the one hand, and Napoli’s desire to sign a new striker with the proceeds from the sale of the Nigerian international on the other.
It’s worth noting that Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists, winning the Turkish League and Turkish Cup titles, and was the team’s top scorer in all competitions.
