Santiago Montiel’s goal for Independiente of Argentina has won the FIFA Puskás Award for the best goal of 2025.
The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony will be held this evening, Tuesday, in Doha, Qatar, and FIFA has already begun announcing the winners of the various awards.
Montel scored a spectacular bicycle kick with his left foot from outside the penalty area during Independiente’s match against Independiente Rivadavia last May.
Arab hopes were high that Amr Nasser, the current Zamalek striker, would win the award after his legendary goal for Pharco against Al Ahly, but ultimately, the vote went to Montiel.
Gianluigi Donnarumma won the Best Goalkeeper award, and the fans of Zakho FC won the Best Fans award for 2025.
Enjoy Montiel’s legendary goal…
We’ll never tire of this goal. 🤸♂️
